Purpose

(Ephesians 1:4 ESV)I've been a little overwhelmed with school and family obligations and unable to write as much as I would like. However, in my devotion this morning I was reading Ephesians 1 in preparation for a message I have to deliver in a few weeks. I absolutely love the book of Ephesians, especially the first chapter because it solidifies who we are in Christ and what our purpose is here on earth. I see clearly how many Christians are so wrapped up in their ministries, their projects, selling their books, trying to become financially independent, getting their businesses to become prosperous, etc., and trust me, I'm not saying that anything is wrong with those things. However, we CANNOT and we MUST NOT lose sight of what our God-ordained purpose is as believers individually and as the body of Christ collectively.
I'm About to Lose My Mind Up in Here, Up in Here

Well, today it's back to the books, busy schedules and finding time to balance life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I love being active and busy. However, several things have changed in my life. First, I just sent my oldest child to college for the first time. It was bittersweet, of course. Thoughts race through your mind simultaneously as you go through this process. Did you prepare her adequately for her life change? Are you supposed to call or text every day or give her space? As usual, I can rely on my favorite scripture verse in the whole wide world - Isaiah 42:10 - "Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Second, I have transferred schools and am now completing my Masters in Christian Education online. This, too, is a bittersweet moment for me. I love the classroom - I love interacting face to face with people. However, I am also excited to study what I am studying, as my old school didn't offer the same courses and I can be more flexible for family situations and/or emergencies.
